Custom Windows Sydney

Why Choose Shamrock Joinery for
Custom Windows in Sydney

Shamrock Joinery has been manufacturing custom timber windows for Sydney homes and beyond for more than 20 years. Every window is designed and built at our Fountaindale factory on the Central Coast, giving us direct control over materials, joinery and finish quality from the first cut through to delivery. The result is a custom window that fits precisely, performs reliably and reflects the character of the home it’s made for. Whether you’re building new, renovating or restoring a heritage property, our team works with you from initial consultation through to installation. You’ll deal with experienced joiners, not a sales floor, and that makes a difference to the outcome.

Custom Window Design in Progress

Premium Craftsmanship
& Local Manufacturing

Choosing custom windows in Sydney means investing in quality that is built to last. Locally manufactured windows are designed with attention to detail, ensuring each frame, joint and finish meets high standards. This approach allows for better quality control, consistent materials and a more tailored outcome compared to mass-produced options. Skilled craftsmanship ensures that each window is constructed to suit the specific measurements and design of your home. By working with experienced professionals, homeowners can achieve a finish that not only looks refined but also performs reliably over time, supporting both durability and long-term value.

Designed for
Sydney Homes & Climate

Sydney’s climate puts real demands on joinery. Coastal properties face salt air and humidity. Inland areas deal with heat and drier conditions. Properties in bushfire-prone zones require rated glazing and frame assemblies. Shamrock Joinery accounts for all of these variables when specifying materials and detailing for your custom windows.

Our team understands the performance expectations that come with building and renovating in Greater Sydney. We work across a wide range of home styles — from contemporary coastal builds to Federation and Victorian-era properties — and we design custom windows that suit both the look and the conditions of each project.

Custom Window
Design & Fabrication

Every custom window we produce starts with a detailed brief. We take into account the architectural style of your home, the orientation of the opening, structural requirements and your preferred finish. From there, our joiners fabricate each window in our Fountaindale workshop using premium hardwood timbers selected for their durability and workability.

This is not an off-the-shelf process. Sizes, shapes, profiles and glazing configurations are all tailored to the job. Whether the project calls for a bold picture window, a set of matching sash windows or a non-standard opening that standard products won’t fit, we have the capability to build it.

Window Replacement,
Renovations & Heritage Matching

Replacing existing windows with custom timber alternatives is one of the most impactful upgrades a homeowner can make. Shamrock Joinery handles this across new renovations and heritage projects, including properties subject to council heritage controls or located in conservation areas. Our heritage matching capability means we can reproduce original window profiles, moulding details, glazing bar configurations and proportions with a high degree of accuracy. This allows homeowners to upgrade the performance of their windows — through improved sealing, updated glazing and reconditioned hardware — without compromising the historic character of the building. For general renovation projects, we work with builders and owner-builders across Sydney to replace outdated or deteriorated windows with purpose-built hardwood alternatives.

Hardwood
Timber Frames

Shamrock Joinery specialises in hardwood timber windows. We work with a range of Australian and imported hardwood species selected for their stability, durability and suitability for different applications. Hardwood provides the structural integrity required for larger openings and the natural density that makes it an ideal substrate for high-performance glazing systems.

Timber frames can be finished in a stain to highlight the natural grain, painted to match your home’s colour scheme or left primed for a trade finish on site. Each frame leaves our workshop properly dried, machined and detailed — ready for installation.

Energy-Efficient
& Double-Glazed Glass

Glazing selection has a direct impact on how a window performs. Shamrock Joinery offers double-glazed and thermally efficient glazing options across our custom window range. Double glazing reduces heat transfer, improves acoustic performance and helps maintain more stable indoor temperatures — particularly valuable for Sydney homes dealing with summer heat loads or street noise.

For bushfire-prone areas, we also supply and install bushfire-rated glazing as part of a compliant window assembly. Our team can advise on the appropriate BAL rating specification for your site and build the window to meet it.

Industry Affiliations &
Why They Matter

Shamrock Joinery is affiliated with WADIC (Window and Door Industry Council), Master Builders Association NSW, the Timber and Trade Industry Association (TTIA) and the Australian Glass and Window Association (AGWA). These memberships reflect our commitment to industry standards, ongoing training and best-practice manufacturing. We hold a WADIC Licensed Bushfire Fabricator licence (number 1036), which authorises us to manufacture and supply bushfire-rated window and door assemblies. This is a licensed accreditation backed by the industry body, not a self-certification. Our Sydney showroom at North Narrabeen is open by appointment Monday to Friday and gives you the opportunity to see timber species, hardware options and glazing samples in person before committing to a specification.

FAQ

Lead times for custom timber windows vary depending on project scope and current workshop capacity. As a guide, most custom window orders are completed within 6 to 10 weeks from approved drawings and deposit. For larger projects or those with complex heritage requirements, we’ll provide a more specific timeline during the quoting process. We recommend getting in touch early in your planning stage to avoid delays to your build schedule.

Yes. Heritage matching is a core part of what Shamrock Joinery does. We can reproduce original profiles, moulding details, glazing bar configurations and proportions from a site inspection and measurements of the existing windows. Where original drawings are available, we can work from those as well. Our team has experience working on heritage-listed properties and understands the documentation requirements that often accompany council approvals.

Shamrock Joinery works with a range of hardwood species suited to window joinery, including Australian hardwoods and selected imported timbers. Species selection depends on the application, finish preference and performance requirements of the project. During the quoting and design process, our team will recommend the most appropriate timber for your job. Visit our North Narrabeen showroom to view samples in person.

Yes. Shamrock Joinery is a WADIC Licensed Bushfire Fabricator (licence number 1036) and manufactures custom windows to meet Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) requirements. We supply bushfire-rated window assemblies for BAL 12.5 through to BAL FZ, depending on the specification. If you’re unsure of your site’s BAL rating, our team can guide you to the appropriate assessment process before finalising your window specification.
