BiFold Doors Sydney
Bifold Doors Sydney
Shamrock Joinery designs and builds custom timber bifold doors for homes across Sydney, from harbourside terraces to bushfire-prone fringe suburbs. Every set is custom-manufactured to order, matched to your home’s architecture and the way you actually use the space.
Sydney’s climate and building conditions vary widely between suburbs, so no two bifold door installations are quite the same. Timber, finish and hardware are specified to suit the exact site, whether that’s a coastal property exposed to salt air or an inland home needing bushfire compliance.
Custom Timber
Bifold Doors
Bifold doors are used in a variety of applications, from room separators to dramatic outdoor features. These sweeping doors make a statement anywhere, while also aiding in the practical use of smaller spaces.
Open up your home and enjoy a fluid transition from indoor to outdoor living areas, or allow two rooms to become one for the ultimate rumpus or living room space.
Space
Efficiency
Bi-fold doors create an effortless flow from indoor to outdoor spaces for entertaining. These are versatile and allow natural light into your home while closed, and when open, the outside comes inside providing fresh air and ventilation inside your home to maximise your living space. They can be hinged on either side of the frame whilst custom built with up to eight door panels to suit your desired space.

Why Choose
Custom Bifold Doors
Custom bifold doors give you control over every detail, from panel width and configuration to the timber species and finish. Off-the-shelf doors are built to a standard size and stock finish, which rarely suits an existing opening or a specific design brief.
Shamrock Joinery sustainably sources Australian timber, so the material in your bifold doors is durable and environmentally responsible. Every set is to your home’s exact opening and design brief.
Our Bifold Door
Range & Materials
Our bifold doors in Sydney are available in a range of Australian timber species, each suited to different aesthetic and performance needs. We’ll talk you through which species suits your home’s exposure, budget and design during your consultation.
Every door leaves with your choice of finish. We supply timber with a clear water-repellent treatment that shows off the timber’s natural grain, or a white primer undercoat ready for your painter to apply a final coat. The right choice depends on whether you’re after a natural timber look or a fully painted finish to match existing trims and joinery.
For Sydney properties in bushfire-prone areas, we can also supply bifold doors rated up to BAL-29 (Bushfire Attack Level), so your outdoor entertaining area doesn’t have to compromise on bushfire compliance.
The Bifold Doors Process
(Consultation to Installation)
Every bifold door project starts with a consultation, either at our Sydney showroom or on-site at your property. We measure the opening, discuss panel configuration and hinge direction and take you through timber and finish options based on your brief.
Once the design is confirmed, your doors are custom-manufactured to order. Because each set is made to your specification rather than pulled from stock, lead times depend on the complexity of the design. We’ll give you a clear timeframe once your order is confirmed.
Installation is carried out by our team, who fit the frame, hang the panels and test the Brio track and hinge mechanism to make sure everything runs smoothly. We’ll also fit a retractable flyscreen at this stage if you’ve included one in your order.
Bifold Doors for
Sydney Homes
Sydney’s housing stock covers everything from federation homes in the inner west to newer builds on the city’s bushfire-prone fringe. Bifold doors in Sydney suit both, but the specification needs to match the site.
Homes closer to bushland or in mapped bushfire zones often need BAL-rated glazing and door construction, which we can supply up to BAL-29. For coastal and harbourside Sydney properties, timber species and finish selection matter more, since salt-laden air can accelerate wear on the wrong material or coating.
Wherever your home sits across Sydney, we build every set of bifold doors to suit the specific conditions of that site, not a generic specification.
FAQ
Bifold Doors
Tempt
Tempt
How do bifold doors work?
Bifold doors are either hanging from a track above or connected to top and bottom tracks with rolling hinges. With either design, the bifold doors collapse into one another. When fully opened, all the door panels will be neatly overlapped on one side of the track. When closed, the doors will extend from one side of the track until the other, closing off the space.
Are bifold doors weatherproof?
Not all bifold doors are 100% weatherproof. However, most external doors are not either. A well-made set of bifold doors is built to withstand harsh weather conditions and everyday conditions in your area, be it moisture, rain, or extreme sun exposure.
Where can I install bifold doors?
Bifold doors can be installed in any large enough wall space. When designed appropriately, they are functional as interior or exterior doors.
How much do custom bifold doors cost in Sydney?
Custom bifold door pricing depends on size, timber species, number of panels and finish, so costs vary between projects. The best way to get an accurate price for your home is a consultation, where we can quote based on your exact opening and specification.
How long does bifold door installation take?
Installation timeframes depend on the size and number of panels in your door configuration. We’ll confirm an expected timeframe once your design and order are finalised.
What materials are your bifold doors made from?
Our bifold doors are built from sustainably sourced Australian timber, selected to suit your home’s style, budget and exposure to weather. We’ll recommend suitable species during your consultation based on where the doors will be installed.
Do bifold doors come pre-treated or finished?
Yes. Every door is supplied with either a clear water-repellent treatment that shows the timber’s natural grain, or a white primer undercoat ready for painting. You can choose whichever finish suits your project.
Are your bifold doors bushfire rated?
We can supply bifold doors rated up to BAL-29 (Bushfire Attack Level), suitable for many bushfire-prone areas across Sydney’s fringe suburbs. Let us know your property’s BAL rating during consultation so we can specify accordingly.
